Not a good week

Posted by: sweetinfant on: October 4, 2009

I did not make any of my goals this week. The flu and other illeness came to our house and I folded. I didn’t exercise once, and I turned to chocolate when things were the most stressfull. I did get my points calculator and found some of my old weight watchers books. After I fell off the diet wagon big time I decided to get right back on. So on Friday I started to keep track of my points and just keep trying. I hit a bump in the road but I’m still in this race. Hopefully this week even if it’s just as stressful and hard I will stick to my plans.

Week 2

Posted by: sweetinfant on: September 27, 2009

This week I learned just how much I had fallen off the wagon and taken some weight with me. But I did much better than the previouse week.

I had some really tough days and was so so tempted to make chocolate chip cookies. Then of course I would have eaten more than half. Once instead I ate a banana, the other time I got on my Wii and the last time I watched a feel good movie. I’m trying to destress other ways than with food.

I still didn’t eat perfectly but I’m getting there. My points calculator should come in the mail soon and I’m going to be purchasing some Lean Cusine meals (they’re on sale)

I did really well exercise wise but didn’t meat my goals. I got on the gazelle once, did wii fit 2, and took a walk. Again not my goal but 3x as much as I was doing.

Slow Start

Posted by: sweetinfant on: September 24, 2009

To be very honest I’m off to a very slow start on my weight loss journey. I’ve decided to go the weight watchers points system route. I’m not signing up for WW but I’ve done it before and know my daily points. I bought a points calculator from Ebay and will keep track that way. I will also keep a daily journal. I am trying to eat better. Controling my portions better. I have been tempted several times this week to bing out on Pour Over Butter Popcorn but I stayed strong. I’ve not binged on candy either. I bought a hershey bar and have eaten 1 piece at a time. Funny how long that bar will last if you do that lol. Exercise was pretty much nonexhistant. I need to purposfully put it in my day, not wait for the right time.

Tuesday’s 5 Things

Posted by: sweetinfant on: September 22, 2009

My 5 things to be thankful for today

1. Cool weather. I love the change of seasons. I’m always ready for whatever change is in store. Today is going to be cooler. A much appreciate change from the recent heat.

2. My Steam Mop. No it’s not perfect but it is better than a sponge mop and I’m so lucky to have it.

3. My suburban. I love it. I don’t care that it uses lots of gas or is huge. It works awesome and we all fit in it with room for a friend.

4. My mother. On Sunday we crashed at her house after church. I’m so blessed to have not only a great mom but an awesome friend.

5. Dakota. After a difficult summer with surgery and such he is growing and doing so well. I love my little man that never fails to put a smile on my face.

Join Me In My Journey

Posted by: sweetinfant on: September 18, 2009

I am going on a weight loss journey. Thanks to a new contest/blog/program I’m not along. I am joining the Bloggest Loser . I invite you to join me as well.

I have not always been overweight. I have kinda teetered on the edge since highschool. I was always ok, not skinny, not fat just ok. Well after marriage, and 3 boys later I have tipped the scales to overweight. I’ve tried to go it alone to change things but I need accountability. That is where Bloggest Loser is going to come in, accountability and encouragement.

I encourage you to join me. If you are overweight and would like to change things, you do not have to do it alone. You also do not have to pay $100′s of dollars doing it either. Come join me in my journey to weight loss and healthy living.

Thursday’s 5 Things

Posted by: sweetinfant on: September 17, 2009

Today I had to dig a little deeper to list my 5 things. I’ve been dealing with insurance and medical groups. Definitely doesn’t put one in a thankful mood.

1. Charles is finally a liscenced pilot. He past his test.

2. Running water. I’ve not had it for 3 days due to our pipes being broken.

3. Healing. Nicholas picked up a poisonous something yesterday. Thankfully his arm is much much better

4. Good Books. When life is stressful, or just not a happy place to be it is wonderful to be swept away by a good book

5.Anthony, my 4 year old middle child. There was a time when we didn’t know if he would have a normal life or even live. Now he runs, plays, and teases like every other 4 year old. He is such a joy to my heart.

Monday’s 5 Things

Posted by: sweetinfant on: September 14, 2009

Since I didn’t post for a few days finding 5 things should be pretty easy.

1. My mother chose life. On Sept. 11 I had my 28th birthday. Thanks Mom!

2. Hot showers. This morning I was able to take a hot shower that left me relaxed and yet energized to face the day.

3. Bob the Builder. Because of this character and his movie I was able to take that hot shower uninterupted.

4. Brownies. I love brownies. On Sunday I was hurting and not feeling well. Browning soothed my soul

5. Charles’ job. Yes it makes him work hard and takes him away from me for 3 days at a time. But it provides us a good life.

Once again I encourage you to make 5 things of your own. Even if you don’t post them here or a link to them make one just for you.

Wednesday’s 5 Things

Another day another list of why I’m thankful. I would love to hear what you are thankful for today. Put a link in the comments box.

1. Hubby’s days off start today. He works 3 on and 3 off. Those 3 on he is totally gone doesn’t come home at all. Today I get my guy back

2. Fall decorations. I love the colors and smells of fall. Decorating my house today made me feel all warm and fuzzy

3. Nicholas. He is my oldest at 6. He is growing up so fast and becoming more responsible everyday. He is becoming a great help to me.

4. The Mentalist. I love that show. After a busy day it is so nice to sit down and be entertained by a great show

5. Cool mornings. I walk outside, smell the dew and feel the coolness of the air. I love it!

Tuesday’s Five Things

Posted by: sweetinfant on: September 8, 2009

It may become a little annoying to some but I’m going to post as often as I can the 5 things I’m thankful for. So here is today’s list

1. School Buses. If the bus didn’t pick up my 4 year old for preschool then I would have to wake the baby everyday to take him to school. An uninterupted nap means a lot. Of course it helps that my 4 year old loves the bus.

2. Vaccum cleaners. Today I had to vaccum crushed crackers in the hall. Can you imagine trying to pick all that up by hand?  Or having to sweep it with a broom?

3. My dog. He isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed and is rather large. But he loves the boys and they love him. He does a good job at keeping varmits away from the yard and thus away from the boys. Good dog.

4. The fundraiser is over. No more keeping track of money. No more remembering to take the order form everywhere we go.

5. Rain. Last night we had rain. I live in the New Mexican desert and rain is one of the most wonderful things to me. I love the smell, the feeling of moisture, and the sounds.

5 Things I’m Thankful For Today

Posted by: sweetinfant on: September 7, 2009

I have been inspired and challenged to write 5 things every day that I am thankful for. Today here are those things.

  1. I have a husband that loves me. Friday he flew me to Ruidoso NM and we went just to eat at an amazing restaurant. It was awesome
  2. I have a wonderful sister-in-law. I called her up and asked if she could watch the boys in an hour. She said yes! Every now and then she calls me just to see how I am. She is such a blessing to our family
  3. Nicholas gave me a great laugh. “Mom when were you born?” “1981″”WOW, that was before electricity” I love him so much and how he thinks
  4. I slept all night until 7 am. For the past week and a half Dakota has been waking up angry at 4. Today is going to be a good day.
  5. Computer games. I love them! They allow me to have fun and destress.
